| Theatre actor Nijhawan awarded national junior fellowship | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 6: Natrang actor Asheish Nijhawan has been awarded the prestigious National Junior fellowship of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India for the year 2013. Asheish Nijhawan is the only theatre person from the state of Jammu & Kashmir who has been able to win this most honoured distinction of the country during the year 2013. The fellowship award carries an amount of Rs 10,000 per month which Asheish will receive for of period of two years to work on a research work on theatre. Natrang Director Balwant Thakur complimented Asheish Nijhawan for bringing laurels and honor for Natrang and the state of Jammu & Kashmir. Asheish Nijhawan started his acting career from Natrang and later got selected for National School of Drama, New Delhi from where he post graduated with specialization in acting. After his studies at NSD, he was selected as an artist in its National Repertory Company and worked there for over a year and travelled with his performances across India and abroad. |
