Udhampur, Nov 6: Continuing its drive against the sail of illicit liquor in far flung areas of Udhampur, Police today arrested one person and seized 50 Pouches of illicit liquor which were recovered from his possession.
According to police, during the surprise checking of suspicious persons near Bus Stand Udhampur, a Police Party of led by I/C District Special Branch Udhampur ASI Madan Lal conducted thorough search of one suspicious person recovered 50 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession. Police immediately arrested the accused on spot, police added
Police said that accused has been identified namely Sukh Ram S/o Chet Ram R/o Thanoa, Tehsil and District Udhampur. During questioning the accused revealed that he was transporting them to his native village Thanoa for illegally selling the same in Thanoa-Barmeen area..
In this connection, a Case FIR No. 351/2013 U/S 48A Ex. Act stands registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation of the case is going on. |
