| School closed ; ‘Mid-Day Meal bills' being encashed fraudulently | | |

Doda, Nov 8: Mid Day Meal once again has become the talk of town in Doda district as now the complaints of drawing bills of the mid-Day meal of that time of earthquake when the Schools were closed in the region but bogus/fraudulent bills were submitted by some vested interest elements to gain some monetary benefits.
The reports of bogus bill submission for Mid Day Meal have been reported from different zones of the mountainous district including Bhatyas, Gundna, Bhagwah, Ghat, Assar and Thathri areas.
"During the period of 2 months Earthquake the mid day meal was not provided to the studen6ts but the drawing of bills has astonished the public and the other organizations," reports alleged.
When contacted ZEO Gundna on the issue, he said that the only those bills has been forwarded which was with proper bills receipts and attendances of the students but if there is any ne faking the bills we will start a enquiry into the matter.
Sources from Chief Education Office Doda said, "We passed the bills as those were dully confirmed by the Schools besides the bills also bear signatures of members of Village Educational Committee (VEC) also and thus we releasing the payments.
But million dollar question here is how these Village Education Committee signatures are present on the bills and how the Schools authorities apply for the drawings of bills when there is no school work due to earthquake for the at least two months, in this hilly zone. |
