Jammu, Nov 8: Border Committee of National Panthers Party (NPP) led by Prof Bhim Singh its Chief Patron visited the residents of International Border with Pakistan in Samba and Hiranagar sectors today and interacted with the border people to take stock of their plight. Senior party leaders included Harsh Dev Singh, MLA, Chairman-JKNPP, MLA Yashpaul Kundal (Samba), General Secretary & President of Border Defence Committee, Faqir Nath, ex-MLA, Provincial President & Convenor of Border Defence Committee, besides Anita Thakur, General Secretary, S Daljit Singh, Vice President, Shiv Charan Singh, District Samba President , ZEO, Arun Khajuria, Distt General Secretary were the part of this Border Defence Committee to get updates from border people about their plight following Pak firing. According to the party statement, the border committee also visited the houses which were bombarded in Pak-shelling last week. It said tha during the interaction with NPP Leaders the deputations of locals called on Prf Bhim Singh and apprised his team about the problems the border people especially been facing due to fencing on the agricultural land of the farmers. Prof Bhim Singh assured the farmers that a detailed report on the situation along the border shall be submitted to the Prime Minister next week. He also assured that he shall knock the doors of the Supreme Court in case the Govt. of India denies them justice regarding payment of compensation of land . He also demanded RBA status to the residents within the range of 10 kms as has been provided to the residents living along LoC. The team visited Samba, Banglad, Kulian-Suchetgarh, Raya, Rehyan, Sudoh (All border areas in Samba Distrct), Chachwal, Rajpura, Chelalia and other border villages in Hiranagar. |
