| Employees V/s Tehsildar: Both on opposite sides, employees go on strike | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Nov 8 : Accusing Tehsildar, Anantnag of misusing his official position and acting in an autocratic manner, the class fourth employees of Revenue Department here today went on a strike in protest. Meanwhile Tehsildar, Annatnag in his defence simply said that the employees protest to save a black mole. Some of employees told CNS that Tehsildar Anantnag Muzaffar Ahmad abused his class fourth employee over phone and also beat him up at his residence. They further alleged that the said official is using unparliamentary language and demanded action under rules against him. Citing one example they said, " the Tehsildar rang up Abdul Rashid Kachroo, a peon on phone and abused him. The Tehsildar accompanied by his escorts later on went to the house of the peon, ransacked his house and beat him." "The family members of the peon were also harassed by the Tehsildar his henchmen," they alleged. The protesting employees, while lodging a complaint in Deputy Commissioners Dc’s office demanded stern punishment against him. Earlier Patwaris and Girdawars of Anantnag Tehsil, last month also had protested and went on two day strike demanding action against him. Meanwhile, Tehsildar, Annatnag Muzaffar Ahmad that the striking employees are all corrupt. "The fact is that all these employees are corrupt and I will take them to task," he said adding that he reprimanded one of the employees because he was not doing his duty in accordance with law . |
