| NHAI assures to complete repair job within 2 days | | | Jammu, Nov 8: National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) developing four lane road infrastructure to boost development and economic activities keeping in view of various complaints about depilated conditions of NH-1A near Kunjwani Bye-Pass Road has assured get the road repaired within two days. Pertinently this particular patch of road lies in highly dilapidated condition since months altogether and turned dangerous for vehicular traffic during the night hours ironically, no repair job has been done over the past few months. Kiran Verma, a resident of Greater Kailash, while criticizing the authorities expressed that his road had been damaged since the construction of Kunjwani-Bye Pass highway. The entire road is ready but this patch has still not been completed owing to which we have to face various hardships while travelling from this side, she added. A resident of Sainik Colony, Veer Abhimanyu also echoed similar views. He said "I don't know why authorities are delaying repair work on this part of the road hence putting the lives of people on risk. When contacted, NHAI Project Director R P Singh said the entire stretch of Kunjwani-Nagrota NH was almost complete but some parts including the stretch beneath Railway Bridge near Greater Kailash were left. "We have taken into account the problem of people owing to damaged road and soon we are going to start the repair work. Hopefully, the repair work would be completed in two days," he maintanied. |
