Jammu, Nov 8: Terming the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls as trailer of the 2014 Assembly elections, patron of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today called upon the party cadre to aggressively pursue visionary agenda of the PDP. He said that change is imminent in the State and people of the J&K are looking towards PDP to get them rid from the present inept and corrupt dispensation. Addressing senior party workers of Jammu district here today, Mufti said that PDP is the real voice of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and this party has to play historic role in the political history of Jammu and Kashmir. "Regional parties are emerging all over the country. West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Orrisa, Andhra Pradesh and Punjab are examples where regional parties are dominating political scenes", he said and added that PDP being the most credible and genuine regional force of J&K has to address aspirations and wishes of all regions and sub-regions of the state. He made it a point that PDP had already played a historic role in restoring peoples' faith in the democratic institutions in the State. He especially mentioned that 2002 assembly elections were turning pointing in the history of the State when people of Jammu and Kashmir had realized that they can change government through their votes. "It is my desire to establish a system where every sections of the society would get justice and equal opportunities for development and economic growth", he said and added that the agenda of the PDP is formulated by accommodating wishes and aspirations of all regions and sub-regions of the State. He said that PDP during its tenure had carved out a path of equitable development in the State by treating all regions and sub-region equally. "Instead of following the visionary policies which were framed by the previous PDP led regime, this government has reversed the whole process", he said and regretted that expect promises nothing has been done on ground. He said that atmosphere of development created by the previous government was unfortunately wasted by the present government. It has brought to a halt the process of development and reversed the process in every sense of the word. "The people now are fed up with this government, its mis-governance and the strikingly corrupt system that it has promoted, he observed and regretted that corruption was now institutionalized even at the highest levels. Sardar Rangil Singh, Trilok Singh Bajwa, Yash Pal Sharma, MLC and PDP candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat, Daman Bhasin, Shanti Devi, Hamid Choudhary, Hussain Ali Wafa, Jagjeet Singh Jagga, Rashid Malik, Suram Singh, R K Bali, Kuldeep Sharma, Rajinder Singh Manhas, Rashpal Singh Bittu, Rashpal Billowaria, Bhushan Lal Dogra, Chater Singh Saini, Choudhary Chuni Lal, Baldev Pappa, Vikram Singh and others also spoke on the occasion. |
