Early Times Report

Rajouri, Nov 9: Charging Omar Abdullah led coalition regime with propagating lopsided developmental policies in the State, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said that successive National Conference regimes are responsible for backwardness and underdevelopment of twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri.
Kick starting tour of Rajouri district by addressing two public meetings at Androte and Swani areas of Rajouri assembly segment, PDP candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha[i] Yash Pal Sharma, MLC today said that backwardness of this district was result of the wrong policies of the successive NC regimes.”Except hoodwinking the innocent people of Rajouri for political gains, successive NC regimes have done nothing to mitigate miseries of the people of this neglected district”, he said and reminded the gathering that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as Chief Minister of the State had taken personal interest in taking some revolutionary steps for the socio-economic growth of this belt. He especially mentioned opening of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University in Rajouri. He said that opening of this University was a biggest gift of PDP led government to the people of this region.
He flayed the present dispensation for its failure to carry forward developmental agenda of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in this region.
Calling upon the people to compare performance of PDP led government with the decades long mis-governance of successive National Conference led regimes, he said that in span of just three years, the PDP led regime had carved out a path of peace and equitable development in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sharma said that in its three years regime the PDP has carved out a new path of peace and progress in this region. “In short span of time PDP had laid a strong foundation of mutual trust and confidence among all regions of the State”, he said.
National Conference had made a number of promises with the people but these promises are yet not translated into reality.
District president of PDP Rajouri Qayoom Dar, Choudhary Qamar Din, Anjum Mirza, Ehsan Mirza, Tahir, Khalid Ferdous, Master Prem Sharma, Ashok Sharma and others also spoke on the occasion.
