11/9/2013 11:22:23 PM

Early Times Report

Srinagar, Nov 9: Accusing the Omar Abdullah government of deliberately putting brakes on the career of students, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said the Common Entrance Test (CET) goof up earlier and now tortuous mathematics paper for class 12th students is enough to indicate about the intentions of the rulers who are hell bent to destroy our future generation.
Demanding immediate re-examinations of students who were provided out-of- syllabus question paper in mathematics paper, the party Chief Spokesperson, Naeem Akhtar said happening of such things time and again is unhealthy trend with all dangerous consequences. It shows the height of insensitivity and callousness of the authorities, who instead of learning from the past mistakes are restoring to it again.
“10+2 is an important stage in students’ academic career; after they (students) go on to choose different career options. But by providing out-of-syllabus question and knotty question paper is akin to stopping their future advancements,” Akhtar said.
He said the rulers, by their own acts, have destroyed the state’s vital institutions, which is bound to further the disillusionment among the young generation. Though there is need to investigate the matter by some independent agency but the foremost importance should be given to uplift the confidence of the students in the system, which can only be done by meeting their demands, he said and added: by refusing to conduct the fresh examination in the paper, the authorities are resorting to arrogance.
The grave mistake has disturbed the innocent students both mentally as well as academically; Akhtar said and regretted that because of this serious negligence one student has taken his life by committing suicide.
