KISHTWAR, Nov 9: Five labourers including three women were injured while working on a construction site inside District Police Office (DPO) Kishtwar. According to details, five labourers identified as Radhika,30, wife of Arjun, Durgeshwari, 24, wife of Hari Ram Sahu, Amrika, 40, wife of Bodh Raj all residents of Domari Chhattisgarh, Bashir Ahmed Dar, 27, son of Abdul Gani Dar and Abdul Rashid Mir, 27, son of Habibullah Mir both residents of Kukarnag Kashmir got injured after a portion of wall of under construction building was collapsed. The reports said that as soon as the incident took place, the labourers raised hue and cry as a result of which the police personnel on duty rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to District Hospital, Kishtwar where the condition of all the injured is said to be stable. The sources said that though the exact reason behind the incident was not known, but use of sub standard material in construction work cannot be ruled out. It is pertinent to mention here that the main building which was constructed at District Police Line, Kishtwar developed cracks within few months of its construction. According to sources, the then Director General of Police (DGP) J&K, Kuldeep Khoda during his visit to Kishtwar ordered an inquiry into the matter and entrusted the inquiry to ADGP Dr SP Vaid. Even though the former DGP ordered the probe, the inquiry report is yet to come out and no responsibility was fixed for the lapses till date. |
