Siddhra Golf course becomes private domain of bureaucrats, Police bosses

Jammu, Nov 11: Promoted as one of the favourite tourist destinations, Sidhra Golf course located on the banks of river Tawi is yet to attract any genuine tourist and has become exclusive domain of politicians, senior police officers and bureaucratic who's who of the state.
Large number of tourists who flock Jammu enroute Mata Vaishno Devi seldom get the opportunity to visit Golf course due to lack of promotional activity conducted by the concerned authorities.
Through out the day the police officers may remain busy attending to bundles of files but when it comes to catching breath of fresh air and pumping adrenalin in their 'tough' veins they all gather in their sporting kits at the Sidhra Golf course every morning to TEE -OFF in style.
Though most of the officers are habitual of playing in serene environs of Royal Spring Golf Course in Srinagar but now even the Sidhra Golf Course offers them equally exotic experience on the banks of river Tawi. After the shifting of the Durbar move offices seberal senior bureaucrats and police officers have been regularly visiting Sidhra Golf course.
With remains of Dogra heritage in the back drop these officers enjoy playing in the close company of their superior offices besides handful of budding golfers.
To name a few DG Prisons K Rajendra,ADGP Headquarters Dr SP Vaid, IG Traffic Munir Khan, DIG Jammu Shakeel Baig and few others are regular visitors at the Sidhra Golf Course and enjoy long walks on the green patch of land.
On Friday former DGP Gopal Sharma also joined them in the golf course for an exclusive TEE-OFF .The officers refreshed their sweet memories while playing their game.
The 18 hole Sidhra Golf course has been developed at a cost of around 38 crore and is seen as major tourist attraction and a perfect platform for sport enthusiasts to showcase their talent.
