Bashir Assad SRINAGAR, Nov 11: Early relegation of political parties including coalition partners into election mode has manifested in seclusion of the Civil Secretariat in the winter capital. Just a week into the Omar Government's last innings in the winter capital, its Ministers have abandoned their offices and are investing their time and appearance in respective constituencies. Following the just concluded visit of the Congress Vice President, Rahul Gandhi and his subsequent announcement that Congress will continue its support to National Conference even after the 2014 elections, many Ministers particularly those belonging to, National Conference have left for Valley to stay back in their respective constituencies. Unmindful of the Ministers having gone back to Kashmir, many a people were found waiting outside the Ministers' offices for their official or personal assignments. The office of Finance Minister, AR Rather, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Mir Saiffulah, Minister for CAPD and Transport, Choudery Mohammad Ramzan, Minister for Higher Education, Mohammad Akbar Lone, Panchayati Raj Minister, Ali Mohammad Sagar, Forest Minister, Mian Altaf Ahmed and offices of some other Ministers were found locked. Sources confirmed that some Ministers had left for Valley on Saturday while some of them left for Valley on Sunday. Minister for Medical Education, Taj Mohi-ud-Din was reportedly in Delhi while R&B Minister, Abdul Majidd Wani was in Srinagar. However, Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir from Kashmir valley, Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma and Minister for Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora were present in their offices. However, Horticulture Minister Raman Bhalla, had come to his office earlier but left for Bishnah in the afternoon on a tour. Minister of State for Revenue, Ajaz Ahmad Khan was also present in his office though he came at around 1 pm. The Civil Secretariat that would remain too crowded till late in the evening is deserted. Not many people are seen queued up outside the security pickets. It may be mentioned here that there are many important files that are to be examined by the Ministers but with Ministers keeping important portfolios having left for Valley, the process is surely going to get delayed. |
