| Week on, darbar confined to four walls of Civil Secretariat | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 11: Despite the fact that one week has passed since darbar opened in winter capital but it remains confined to the four walls of Civil Secretariat. The only visibility of darbar being in Jammu is the sirens and police deployment in the city to provide safe passage for Chief Minister, Ministers, bureaucrats and other important dignitaries and beyond that common man has been kept at a bay. The entry for common people inside Civil Secretariat is allowed only after 2 pm and till then Ministers and bureaucrats leave from the complex and people only move from one door to another. Even if any Minister or bureaucrat is present inside his or her chamber, people are made to wait for hours together outside their rooms and when they are called inside they are given hardly a couple of minutes to present their demands. The surety of addressing their requests and demands is minimal. This trend has increased since Omar Abdullah took over as the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and the things are limited only to relatives of Ministers, and their well wishers. Under this present Government things, with respect to corruption, have gone out of control and common people can't expect any good from politicians. The Civil Secretariat is for the welfare of people of the State as their grievances should be addressed but they are only allowed after 2 pm. Irony is that Ministers and bureaucrats can call their close aids in morning and after 4 pm as well but common people are not allowed. People are being harassed even after 2 pm as they have to remain in queue for long to get entry inside and employees and other close aids of Ministers and bureaucrats get entry through the main gate. Instead of proving people friendly, the Omar Abdullah Government has turned out to be an anti-people Government. |
