Jammu, Nov 11 : Bhagawan Sri Ramakrishna Mahasamelan Ashram Trust (BSRMAT), Nagdandi, Anantnag, today formally released two books namely 'Kashmir Hindu Heritage - A Study, authored by S N Pandit and revised English edition of a medieval history of Kashmir titled Baharistan-i-Shahi: A Chronicle of Medieval Kashmir by Dr K N Pandit in a function organized at Jammu. The titles were released by Major Gen (Retd) B N Dhar and Prof ML Kaul, Ms Shakt Munshi, an acknowledged social activist, and Prof M L Koul, a renowned author. General (Retd) B N Dhar who was chief guest on the occasion described both the writers for having successfully completed excellent pieces of research work. He said that both writers namely Dr KN Pandit and S N Pandit had done a great service to the cultural history of the State and retrieved a valuable history from being lost to us in the course of time. Experts while reading papers on the titles released today stated that Kashmir Hindu Heritage - A Study is an attempt to assess the socio-cultural history and heritage of the Kashmiri Pandits and is an attempt for the first time making a deep study of three Upa-Puranas particularly connected with Jammu and Kashmir. The book release function was attended by many scholars and literary luminaries. Col (Retd.) Yoginder Kandhari presented welcome address while Virender Bhat, Advocate, presented the vote of thanks. |
