| MHAC School, Nagbani celebrates Annual Sports Day | | | et report
JAMMU, Nov 13: MHAC School, Nagbani organized its Annual Sports Day today to foster the spirit of sportsmanship in the students. The celebrations were held with great exuberance in the school grounds. This sports day was a special one as DAV Cluster National Level athletic events were also held.
The glittering ceremony commenced with the welcoming of the Chief Guest, Mr. Ashok Kumar, Director Sports Mata Vaishno Devi University and Shrine Board and Captain Dewan Singh the Guest of honor followed by a crisp march past by the four house contingents of the school and a contingent of DAV Schools. The school sports captain Stenzing Norbo administered the oath to all the participants.
The sports meet was declared open by the release of balloons in the air and chanting of a Gyatri Mantra by the choir of students.
There was also a colourful display of Bhangra by the students of 6th, 7th & 8th students. On the occasion children competed in a range of sporting events, relays, sprints and hurdles. Fancy Dress Competition of the tiny ones of class 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th marked the event wherein nearly 120 children enthusiastically participated on the given themes. In Fancy dress competition, Snigdha Sharma and Vir Bhaskar bagged the first prize in class I category, while in Class II, Mohin Gupta and Aanya Tandon got the first place. In class III & Iv group, Soumil Manhas and Athrav Mahajan both from class III secured first position. The Jury members for the event were honorable Sangeeta Chopra and Mansi Gupta.
Principal of school, Alok Betab read the Sports Report highlighting the achievements of the students at State and National level.
The Chief Guest, in his address spoke volumes of the school & lauded the devotion & dedication of the Principal and Staff to take the school to soaring heights.
One of the most thrilling events of the day was 1500 mts race for boys wherein Manpreet of Police DAV Public School Jalandhar stood first while in Girls Category, Amrit Kaur of MHAC School, Nagbani clinched the first place.
Medals were awarded to the winners of sports and other activities and trophies were given to meritorious students.
The vote of thanks was presented by the Principal. The function concluded with the National Anthem. |
