SHO lands in judicial lock up for contempt

Jammu, Nov 13: An Inspector posted as SHO Janipur landed in judicial lock up following the violation of the court order in the premises of court here today. As per reports, SHO Janipur Niaz ul Haq who was standing before Forest Magistrate attended a phone call. After his act, he was warned by the judge to mend his ways.
After some time, SHO again took a call. Responding to the magistrate's questions, he said his senior officer had called and it was important for him to take his call. Taking serious note of the breach, the magistrate ordered his judicial arrest.
The SHO was later granted interim bail to the tune of Rs 10,000 after the court granted him time up to November 18 to explain as to why he should not be punished for an offence under Section 228 RPC. If the SHO fails to explain his position within the given time he will have to undergo simple imprisonment for seven days and fine of Rs 10000.
