| DB grants two weeks time to State for release of funds | | PIL regarding construction of District Court complex Samba | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 21 (JNF): In a PIL filed by Ganesh Sharma seeking construction of District Court Complex in Samba, a division bench of state High Court comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice Hasnain Massodi after hearing senior Adv Sunil Sethi assisted by Adv Vaibhav Gupta appearing for the petitioner whereas AG MI Qadiri with Senior AAG Gagan Basotra appearing for the respondents, granted two weeks time to state for release of funds for construction of same.According to Senior Adv Sunil Sethi for the PIL, all formal steps are complete for commencing construction as the land measuring 40 kanals stands acquired and formal approval by various agencies have been accorded. However, the project has been stalled on account of non-releasing of funds by the respondent-State. Advocate General MI Qadiri has requested for two weeks time to seek instructions for release of funds. Upon this Division Bench hoped and trust that the funds are released before the next date of hearing before the Bench.Another related issue raised by Counsel for the PIL is regarding to access road to the proposed District Court Complex. According to him, the connecting road to the Court Complex goes through the village, which is almost 3km. The aforesaid issue also needs to be addressed. Upon this Division Bench directed AH MI Qadri shall come out with suggestions to solve that issue as well. |
