SRINAGAR, Nov 21: Srinagar, summer capital of the state is facing severe dearth of manpower as thousands of posts in some of the critical government departments are lying vacant for years with no immediate solution in sight as on date.
According to the information provided by General Administration Department (GAD), Health & Medical Education Department is worst sufferer since 1412 posts are lying vacant in the different categories. While 95 posts are lying vacant in Gazetted category and 806 posts are lying vacant in the non-gazetted category. Five hundred eleven (511) posts are lying vacant in the class IV category in the district.
School Education department comes next on the list with 669 posts vacant in different categories. In this department, 67 gazetted posts are lying vacant while as 496 posts are lying vacant in non-gazetted category. One hundred six (106) posts are lying vacant in class IV category in the department in the summer capital of state.
In the Finance department, 520 posts are lying vacant in the different categories in the Srinagar district. While seven posts are lying vacant in the gazetted category, 393 posts are lying vacant in the non-gazetted category. One hundred twenty (120) posts are lying vacant in the class IV category in Finance department in Srinagar district.
Higher Education department comes next on the list with 447 posts lying vacant in the different categories. While 248 posts are lying vacant in the gazetted category and 87 posts are lying vacant in the non-gazetted category. One hundred twelve (112) posts are lying vacant in the class IV category in this department in the summer capital of state.
Technical Education and Youth Services & Sports department comes next on the list with 220 vacant posts. While 94 posts are vacant in the gazetted category, 96 posts are lying vacant in non-gazetted category. Thirty (30) posts are lying vacant in class IV category in this department in Srinagar district.
In the Agriculture department, 206 posts are lying vacant in the various categories. While five gazetted posts are lying vacant in this department and 104 posts are lying vacant in the non-gazetted category. In the class IV category, 97 posts are lying vacant in this department in the summer capital of state.
Public Works Department (PWD) comes next on list with 199 posts lying vacant in the different categories. While 24 posts are lying vacant in the gazetted category and 54 posts are lying vacant in the non-gazetted category. One hundred twenty one (121) posts are lying vacant in class IV category in this department in the Srinagar district.
In the Animal & Sheep Husbandry department, 133 posts are lying vacant in the different categories. While 11 posts are lying vacant in the gazetted category and 34 posts are lying vacant in the non-gazetted category. Eighty eight (88) posts are lying vacant in class IV category in this department in summer capital of state. In the Home department, 107 posts are lying vacant in non-gazetted category in Srinagar district.
Nine (9), 19, 96, 71, 22, 6, 63, 40, 51, 13, 15, 72, 49, 23 and 45 posts are lying vacant in Election, Cooperatives, Industries & Commerce, Revenue, Social Welfare, Rural Development, Forest, Hospitality & Protocol, Power Development Department, Labour & Employment, Floriculture, Public Health Engineering, Information, Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution and ARI Trainings departments respectively in various categories. |
