Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 21: The Gujarat Government will be assisting the Central and J&K Governments in security arrangements for December 1 rally of BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi at MA Stadium here.
This was disclosed by BJP national general secretary and in-charge J&K JP Nada while talking to reporters here today. Nada who came for a one day visit of Jammu to see the arrangements for Modi's December 1 rally visited MA Stadium in the morning.
He said elaborate security arrangements will be made by the Government for Modi's rally and Gujarat Government will be assisting J&K and central Governments in this regard.
Nada said J&K is a sensitive state which is facing terrorist violence for last 25 years, hence extra security arrangements will be taken for Modi's rally.
He made an appeal to the state as well as central Governments to provide special security to Modi. He said BJP is also monitoring the security arrangements and in case it found any lapses it will intimate the Government about the same.
Terming the proposed rally a grand political event in the state; he said it will give a new political direction to the J&K state. Nada said to monitor the arrangements for the rally, BJP has constituted sanchalan samelan committee which has 32 sub committees. He said a meeting of these committees was held in the morning to discuss the arrangements.
Nada also refuted the charges of BJP having a truck with People's Democratic Party (PDP). He also expressed the hope that state Government will make all arrangements of security for Modi.
He also said that space for Modi's rally will be insufficient as the people have lot of enthusiasm for the event.
Nada, however, said that the rally venue was selected by the administration keeping the security point in view. Admitting that threat perception looms large there he said both Central and State Governments have to look into it.
