POJK not part of Pakistan, Government tells Google
Internet giant's gaffe

JAMMU, Nov 21: Sometime back in 2005, Google, internet giant, had invited the Government of India's ire by showing Arunachal Pradesh as Chinese territory and it had to correct its mistake. It was then hoped that Google would not commit such major mistakes in future, but it was not to be. Instead of being careful and correct, Google committed gaffe once again the other day by depicting Pakistan-occupied-Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK) as part of Pakistani territory, thus courting another controversy and inviting the ire of the Union Government.
The Government of India took a serious cognizance of the mistake committed by this internet giant and has served a notice for this serious mistake asking it to correct it forth with. According to reports, Union Minister of State for Telecom and Information & Technology Sachin Pilot said that the "internet company invited the woes for itself by wrongfully depicting the Indian map and its boundaries" and that "the action against the company will be taken under the India Information Technology Act". In response, the Google assured to make the "correction at the earliest".
It is also important to note that the Government of India has directed the Department of Information and Technology to "survey all such goof ups by different companies and ensure to make due correction". It is good that the Government of India has taken a serious cognizance of the Google's goof up and acted without losing any time, but this is just not enough. Mere correction in the map will not serve any purpose. It has to go several steps further and order Pakistan to vacate its aggression so that the illegally occupied POJK and Gilgit-Baltistan are reintegrated into India, as they are legitimately Indian. The Government of India is duty bound to get the aggression vacated. There is not one, but three unanimous Parliamentary resolutions, that mandate the Government of India to take back from Pakistan all the Jammu & Kashmir areas which it illegally occupied in 1947-1948. They were adopted in 1994 and 2013 to assuage the hurt feelings of the Indian nation.
