Anandeshwer Pandey Vice President Handball Federation of India was the Chief Guest of today's matches. He distributed sports bags to all the players of all participant teams in the said tournament. First semi final will be played between J&K vs. Punjab Police and 2nd semi final will be played between Army Red vs Delhi from 8:00 AM onwards. The final match will be start at 3 pm . The event began with lighting of the torch by the hon'ble guest. The marching squads lined up for the opening march past followed by the declaration of the meet open by the chairman. Students of the different houses displayed their consistency in the form of pyramids. After this students of different classes sweared the ground with their energetic drills. The main attraction were Aerobics, Flower Drill and various Races in which children took part in enthusiastically. The event came to an end with the prize distribution to the winners and the achievers of the year followed by the inspirational speech by the Chief Guest. The event ended with a vote of thanks by the Principal, Sangeeta Gupta. India face Japan in FIBA Asia U16 C’ship agencies New Delhi, Nov 22:India will take on defending champions Japan in their opening contest of the 3rd FIBA Asia U16 Championship for Women in Colombo on Saturday. Based on their finish in the 2nd edition of the championship, the Indian girls are placed in Level I group alongside China, Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Chinese Taipei. The Indian team has prepared well for the tournament, and underwent a training-cum-preparation camp in Dongguan, China from November 13-21. Head coach T D Biju along with coach Abhay Chavan will be leading the contingent to Sri Lanka under the guidance of senior women coach Francisco Garcia. After Japan, India plays China on November 24 and Malaysia (Nov 25), Chinese Taipei (Nov 26) and Korea (Nov 27) in the preliminary round. |
