| Heath Minister absent yet inaugurates solar power plant in Poonch | | Sycophancy touches heights | | Early Times Report POONCH, Nov 22: Call it sycophancy or gratuitous appeasement, State Information department seems dedicated to churning out lies and misleading information when it comes down to appeasing 'publicity hungry' mantris. Minister for Health Shabir Khan, according to an official handout inaugurated Solar Power Plants at District Hospital, Poonch and CIC Manjakote, Rajouri respectively. But those present at the function in Poonch vehemently deny presence of Khan at the venue. They maintain that Khan was not in Poonch at the time when the Solar Power Plant was inaugurated by MLA Poonch Aijaz Jan. They assert that Khan was in Rajouri and infact, did not visit Poonch. Even then, the sycophants of information department, just to please Health minister Khan, talked about him being present at the venue of the inauguration. They went on and even said that Khan delivered a speech at the venue of inauguration. This act of state information department speaks in volumes about government officers going out of the way to appease ministers. It is not this time that information department had misled commoners. A look at the photographs of rallies speaks in volumes about how the department intends to deceive not only commoners but the office of Chief Minister. Trick photography is used on most occasions to show huge crowds. A photograph of a rally in a particular area of Kashmir, a few months ago took all by surprise. The photo showed people seeking blessings of almighty while the ministers on the stage were shown speaking to the surging crowds. Similar was the case of a Jammu minister. He had spoken at a small function inside a hall but was shown addressing a huge gathering in Parade ground area of Jammu city. In the present case, an observer who was present at the inauguration said that Aijaz Jan inaugurated the Solar Power Plants at District Hospital, Poonch alongwith Feroz Khan, who is an MOS. 'Shabir was not at the venue. I can say with surety," said the onlooker. Meanwhile, the Solar Power Plant at District Hospital Poonch has been commissioned at a cost of about Rs. 40 lakhs and will be utilised to keep functional emergency services of the hospital viz operation theatre, X-ray machine, testing laboratories etc for 6-8 hours during power cuts. The plant will also boost the power of Grid station of Hospital. |
