KATHUA, Nov 22: "Quami Ekta Week" commenced today at Government Degree College (GDC), Kathua with its formal inauguration by Principal of the institute, Dr Netar Singh. The main motive of the week is to inculcate the values of brotherhood among the youth, sense of discipline and responsibility to build a strong nation.Speaking on the occasion, Dr Singh praised the efforts and interests of NSS volunteers for taking part in this type of programmes which inculcate the sense of national consciousness among the youth. On the occasion, NSS Programme officer, Dr. Ram Singh presented the schedule of various activities to be organized during the week. Some NSS Volunteers threw light on the need of national integration in our multi-regional, multi-lingual and multi-religious country. Soon after the inaugural function, as a part of the series of activities to be held during the week long celebrations, a slogan writing competition on the theme "National Integration" was organized by NSS Unit of the College. As many as 25 volunteers participated in slogan writing competition. The programme was organized under the guidance of NSS Programme officers Prof Raj Kiran, Dr Suram Singh and Dr Ram Singh. |
