| JKDF unveils portrait of Banda Bahadur at Kunjwani | | |

JAMMU, Nov 22: Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Front (JKDF) today unveiled a portrait of great Sikh warrior Banda Singh Bahadur at Kunjwani Chowk. District Youth Wing led by president, Rohit Kerni erected the portrait as a mark of respect to Banda Bahadur.
Kerni said that the installation of statue of Banda Singh Bahadur was a long pending demand of the people of the area. People on several occasions approached the Government for installation of statue in the Chowk and renaming of the Chowk as Banda Singh Bahadur Chowk. However, the Government has not taken any action regarding the popular demand.
Munish Khajuria (State Youth wing President) appreciating the initiative of District Youth Wing Said, the Government should consider the demand of people and install the statue of Banda Singh Bahadur at Kunjwani Chowk.
Till the Government concede to the demand of people, JKDF have erected a portrait as mark of respect to the great hero as also to honour the sentiments of Sikh community. |
