| JKPCC expresses concern over non-availability of modern agriculture facilities in Samba | | |

Jammu, Nov 22: Jammu and Kashmir Pardesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) vice president Thakur Hari Singh has expressed concern over the non availability of modern agriculture facilities in Vijaypur and Parmandal blocks of Samba district. He demanded all such facilities like soil testing, better insecticides, seed and fertilizers etc in these areas.
According to statement issued here, Th. Hari Singh said that there was no soil testing facility in Vijaypur & Parmandal blocks and the farmers have to approach Jammu for this facility which is a lengthy process. He demanded deployment of mobile soil testing teams so that farming community could avail this facility at their door step.
He said that there is general complaint of farmers that the insecticides supplied by the agriculture department of are inferior quality and ineffective to protect the crops from insects, instead it become harmful on some times. A better and matching quality of insecticides should be supplied to the farmers for better agriculture produce.
Th. Hari Singh further said that the farmers of border area of Ramgarh and Nandpur sector are facing problems to harvest their paddy crops because of mines. He demanded that the farmers should be assisted by the security personnel/Army deployed in the area of border so that they could harvest standing paddy crops at the earliest. |
