| 3 bovine smugglers held in Channi | | | ET Report
Jammu, Nov 22: Police today claimed to have foiled a bovine smuggling bid with the arrest of three bovine smugglers while rescuing 12 animals which were being smuggled to Srinagar in a truck. "The accused have been identified namely as Ghulam Mohd s/o Mohd Shah Bhan of Anantnag, driver Liaqat Ali and conductor Parvez Ahmed of Sidhra who were arrested on spot, police sources said. As per reports, SDPO East SS Sambyal following a tip regarding a truck bearing registration number JK02AF/9327 was carrying bovine animals to Srinagar without due permission and accordingly he directed Channi Himmat Police to take action in this matter. "A team from Channi Himmat Police Station laid a naka on National Highway and intercepted the said truck and during search of truck the police team recovered twelve bovine animals, police said. A case in this connection stood registered against the accused persons. |
