Around 31619 families were kept in the camps established by the State and Central Governments. About 10,000 families couldn't join the camps. About 5500 families fled to other states. Thousands of families remained unregistered. These families were given a step motherly treatment by the State Government. These families have not been settled permanently by the Central and State Government due to ill will of the Kashmir based leaders who have been biased through out towards Refugees (POJK) and Jammu region as a whole. The POJK Refugee Front 1947, 1965, 1971 started agitation in favour of one time settlement of all the POJK DPs in 2004 and the agitation continues including Financial Package is meager and does not commensurate the losses suffered by the POJK Refugees in the Indo-Pak Wars of 1947, 1965, 1971. |
