Bus collides with mountain, 18 pilgrims injured

Jammu, Dec 23 : Eighteen pilgrims received injuries when the bus they were traveling in collided with mountain and later turned turtle allegedly due to brake failure near Barkh in Reasi. Police sources said "The accident took place when a bus bearing registration number UT71T-0371 was on its way back to Uttar Pradesh from Shiv Khori Shrine", adding that the mishap took place due to brake failure of the vehicle following which 18 pilgrims received injuries. After getting the information, police and locals immediately reached the spot and shifted the injured pilgrims to Public Health Centre (PHC) Pouni and District Hospital Reasi. After preliminary treatment, one of seriously injured identified as Alpna Diwedi of Uttar Pradesh was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital for advance treatment. While injured admitted The injured have been identified as Sarla Devi, Dinesh, Aman, Rubi, Meena Devi, Anjali, Sharda, Nirla Devi, Guddi, Davinder, Tania, Uma Ram, Subanshu Khatri, Manoj Sahu, Kanta Prasad, Babita and Kirti Diwedi, all residents of Uttar Pradesh. Police have taken cognizance of the case.
