Kishtwar, Dec 23: Several top rank Congress leaders in erstwhile Doda District have expressed shock over the participation of Union Health Minister and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in re-induction ceremony of Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo who made a comeback in Omar Abdullah council of Ministers as MoS after one man Commission of Inquiry headed by Retired Justice R C Gandhi give clean chit to Kitchloo over his alleged involvement in August 9 this year Kishtwar communal violence.
While talking to "Early Times" several Congress leaders from both the factions of Congress reacted sharply towards the participation of Azad in Kitchloo's re-induction ceremony along with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Several Congress leaders also showed their resentment towards Azad for not supporting Ghulam Mohammed Saroori's re-induction after he got a clean chit from CBI into infamous MBBS impersonating scandal.
While reacting to the latest development, a senior Congress leader while hailing the party support to Kitchloo towards his re-induction, expressed displeasure towards Azad and Congress party for not supporting Saroori.
The senior Congress leaders said that with the removal of Saroori from the council of Ministers couple of years ago, the Congress party has started losing its grip over Kishtwar district.
Another Congress leader from Soz group said that Azad's participation in Kitchloo's re-induction ceremony is an eye opener for Saroori group who are targeting Soz over his non induction into council of ministers a year ago.
"They (Saroori supporters) were blaming Soz for his ouster; though Soz was not involved in his ouster have no concern with Saroori ouster, but they (Saroori supporters) must now understand the reality and reason behind all that," said another leader.

Leaders from Soz group feel that the future of the Congress is not safe in Kishtwar and blame Azad for weakening the party in the district. "Every senior leader is dragging feet from contesting election from Congress in Kishtwar. Earlier, it was Sheikh Ghulam Haider and now Thakur Jughal Bhandari and Azad's proximity with Kitchloo family is the reason behind it," said a staunch Congress worker.

Many Congress leaders also believe that the party has received a major dent in its vote bank in erstwhile Doda district where party is presently representing 5 seats out of six seats. The leaders also face tough resistance from BJP and PDP particularly in Bhaderwah and Doda constituencies, while the situation is not different in Ramban, Banihal and adjoining Chenani constituencies.

A veteran Congress leader from Kishtwar while expressing his views over the impact of Kitchloo's re-induction on Congress vote bank said that the move will make Congress party weak in entire Jammu province where party has strong vote bank.

He said that the move will directly give benefit to BJP and NC and added that NC is eyeing for post poll alliance with BJP at Centre and State to form the government as was hinted by NC's veteran leader Mustafa Kamaal. He said that duel policies of some Congress leaders can lead to a debacle of Congress party in Jammu and Kashmir and added that in case party high command did not take some drastic steps' the repeat of recently elections held in four states of Delhi, MP, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand cannot be ruled out in Jammu and Kashmir.
