Early Times Report

JAMMU, Dec 23: As 48 hour Jammu bandh fails to evoke a proper response simmering differences in state BJP leadership have surfaced with ground level workers blaming Party leadership of giving the bandh call without taking the traders and transporters into confidence.
The Party workers who show their dissatisfaction over the bandh call due to the poor public response received during last two days said that the issue was not thread bare discussed and neither the Party activists nor the representatives of traders and transporters were consulted before hand. The party activists said that the decision was taken by State leadership on the behest of some leaders who are not linked to ground realities nor know the public psyche. A senior leader of Jammu district on the condition of anonymity said that bandh call was given in a hurry on Saturday after the release of Judicial Commission report by the Party leadership.
He said confusion was created among the people as on Sunday morning there was a rumor in entire Jammu city that the bandh call was withdrawn. He while expressing surprise over the decision of giving 48 hour bandh call said the ground gained by the Party during its Prime Ministerial candidate Narindera Modi's visit on December 1 has been lost by such a call which was given byParty leadership without applying proper mind. The same were the views of the other party workers in Gandhi Nagar, Janipur, Talab Tillo and other areas of the City. The Party men working on ground feel humiliated as the decision was taken by the State leaders on the advice of some leaders who don't have any know how of ground realities.
A Party activist from Gandhi Nagar said that we intimated the senior leaders that traders keeping their business open on Sunday will never agree to close their business establishments and it will be difficult to close the Sunday market and the Party will face stiff opposition from the small traders on this account and the same happened later. It was better for Party to hold protest demonstrations against Commission report instead of giving a call for Jammu bandh.
