Kishore, Koul rush to Delhi
12/23/2013 10:40:43 PM
Jammu, Dec 23: The 48 hour Jammu bandh call given by BJP has not received over-whelming response but the party has decided to vociferously take up issues related to Kishtwar riots and clean chit to Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo at national level to take on Congress all over the country. Following directions of the high command, state president of BJP Jugal Kishore Sharma along with general secretary (organisation) Ashok Koul have rushed to New Delhi this evening to apprise the leadership about latest development following clean-chit to the Minister who played very dubious role during riots.
Insiders in the BJP revealed that party has decided to make clean-chit to Kitchloo as national issue to counter Congress's campaign against party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and his close aide Amit Shah.BJP leaders from Kishtwar and Doda districts have also brought this matter to the notice of the high command and made it clear that this action of the State Government would demoralize minorities in this region so there was a need to take up this issue at national and state level. Insiders said that Jugal Kishore and Ashok Koul have been asked to reach New Delhi so that a strategy should be devised to exploit this issue at national level.
"Party is also thinking over organizing meetings of Kishtwar riot victims at different parts of the country to expose Congress", sources said and added that decision of the state government to reinduct Kitchloo has provided an opportunity to the BJP to put Congress on defensive on the issue of Gujarat riots. "By participating in oath taking ceremony of Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo, the Congress leadership has accepted that Kitchloo is not an accused but he is a victim. By accepting Kitchloo as victim the Congress has lost the moral right to attack Narendra Modi for Gujarat violence", a BJP leader, who did not want to be quoted said.
