Jammu, Jan 9 : Three days on, Roop Nagar locality of Jammu city living in dark, as the Power Development Department of the state do not find time to replace the damaged transformer.
The transformer of the locality was damaged on Tuesday afternoon, but the casual approach of the department has let the residents without electricity for the last two days. The department is still giving some silly excuses. "The transformer of our locality was damaged on Tuesday, but after so many attempts no one from the department came to the replace it," said Sanjay Dhar a resident of the locality. "There are children, senior citizens and patients living in the locality, and this unprofessional attitude of the department, not only suffering the studies of the students but also creating risk for the lives of the patients living in the locality," he added.
Residents of the locality further said that the inverters are down, water has been finished in the tanks and the locality is bearing financial as well as health wise loses. Kundal, Executive Engineer said, "I have sent the transformer to the concerned AEE, but he is trying to find some crane to install the transformerin the locality."When asked for the reason of delay of two days, he refused to reply on it. |
