| Second bid to 'loot SBI ATM' in a fortnight | | | ET Report Jammu, Jan 9: Just within a fortnight, the burglars in a bizarre incident dared to loot cash from ATM kiosk near Exchange road last night. Earlier burglars had decamped with ATM Machine from Nanak Nagar locality on December 27. Police sources said that attempt of looting ATM kiosk of SBI near Exchange Road was reported to police today in the morning and after getting the information police and team of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) reached the spot and collected circumstantial evidences. Police sources however said that overnight CCTV footage of the ATM kiosk was thoroughly scrutinized by the police but surprisingly no body appeared in the footage. Meanwhile police further is investigating the matter. Pertinent to mention here that burglars struck at ATM machine of the Punjab National Bank (PNB) containing cash over Rs 4 lakh and decamped with the ATM Machine when they failed to broke it open on intervening night of Dec 26/27. Police have arrested one of the accused Kalla s/o Sheru, of Chinore Farms, Kanachak alongwith ATM chest containing Rs 4,01,700 worth cash was recovered from the house of Chedu son of Hamid R/o Meen Sarkar while eight others including Chedu evaded the arrest. |
