| Forest employees rue elevation of juniors | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 9: Jammu and Kashmir Forest Employees Federation (JKFEF) has accused the Forest Department of elevating some junior Foresters as incharge Range Officers while seniors have been left out. The Forest Department elevated many Foresters as Incharge Range Officers. JKFEF alleged that non-technical junior Deputy Foresters and Junior Foresters who are not competent for the post have been promoted and they have been working as Incharge Range Officers in the department. It further alleged that the junior Foresters have been elevated I/c ROs by pick and choose in gross violations of the rules. "Despite assurance by Forest Minister, the department officers adopted pick and choose methods. There are 46 ranges in the State without Range Officers from August 2012 and the department is not showing any interest to fill these posts by promoting must senior employees of the department," said an official. Besides, 107 ranges of Range Officer grade first and 65 ranges of range officers grade-II are lying vacant, a spokesman of JKFEF said. JKFEF alleged that the government has deliberately stopped the functioning of 'Departmental Promotion Committee' (DPC) since 2002, with the purpose to adjust favorites. |
