Jammu, Jan 9: Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha has demanded from the state government to create separate administrative department for Tribal Affairs for proper utilization of central funds meant for the welfare of Gujjars, Bakkerwals and other tribal communities of the state. In a letter written to the Chief Minister, BGM, Shfaq-ur-Rehman said that the government's aim of reaching out to every section of the society and every nook and corner of the state would not be achieved until separate administrative department for tribal affairs would be created. "A separate Administrative Department is required for proper implementation and monitoring of Tribal Sub Plan in proportionate to population", he said, adding that due to non-implementation of Tribal Sub Plan, grants under SCA to TSP and Article 275 have been stalled by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, which is adversely affecting the tribal communities. |
