Srinagar, Jan13: An explosive went off in Police Station Shergari today morning in which two labourers got injured, however, the blast is believed to have been accidental and the authorities rule out any militant act. Two labourers were injured in an accidental blast in police station Shergari building, which is being dismantled for construction of a flyover from Jehangir Chowk to Rambagh on Srinagar airport road. Official sources said a group of labourers was working to dismantle police station building when suddenly there was a loud blast. Two labourers were injured who were later shifted to hospital, they said, adding the exact cause of blast was yet to be known. However, this could be caused by some explosive device left in the building which has been vacated by police a month ago. Sources ruled out any sabotage or militant act. Meanwhile Pulwama police recovered about 30 kgs narcotic substances from a residential house at Larve Kakapora. Acting upon a specific information, a police party from police post Kakapora searched a house belonging to Muzaffar Ahmad Hajam son of Ali Mohammad Hajam. During the search police recovered 19 Kgs Bung Patri, 11 Kgs Poppy Straw, 950 gms Charas Powder from the house. The accused was arrested. A case FIR No. 02/2014 under section 15/28 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Pulwama and investigation has been started. |
