| Patwars of Jammu awaiting stipend, Kashmiris have been paid | | Omar promoted fraud, discrimination in five years | | Bivek Mathur JAMMU, Jan 13: Tall claims of Omar Abdullah Government about achievements, published through print media have come under scanner as the Patwars of Jammu region are awaiting the stipend guaranteed to them during the time of joining when their counterparts in Kashmir have been getting it for the past four months. A Patwari selected through exam conducted by BOPEE in the year 2012 as per the Government order number 201/REV/NG of 2012 dated 13-08-2012, the elected candidates were assured a stipend of Rs 3000 to the 1500 passing candidates from Jammu as well Kashmir and the selected patwar trainee a sum of Rs 3000 by debt to budgeted amount for the vacant posts of Patwaris which will be made available to the respective revenue training institutes for being paid to the Patwaris. According to him, despite completion of one and half year in service the promise remains unfulfilled. The Patwari said job without salary had become very tough". "We are facing shortage of funds is the common reply of Revenue officials including Minister whenever they were approached by the selected Patwars delegation", said the Patwari. "On November 1 2012, the Revenue Department asked us to submit some documents including account numbers with the Patwars of Kashmir region which we had submitted in the FCR Jammu office but we are not paid even a single penny till the date of joining", he said. To authenticate the cause of this Patwari of Jammu, he provided Early Times contact number of a Kashmir based Patwari who further said, "Yes Patwaris of Kashmir region have been paid the stipend of four months from the date of joining up to February 2013 but the same is not being paid to the patwaris of Jammu and admitted that they are facing extreme hardships due to casual approach of Government towards the revenue officials". He also said that the delegations of Patwars of Kashmir region are also in touch with the Revenue Minister as well as authorities for the release of pending stipend when Jammu region Patwars are not paid even a penny which clearly exposed the discriminatory attitude of Omar Government towards Jammuites. |
