According to sources the Party activists at grass root level are desperately trying to pursue their senior leaders to impress upon the High Command at Union Capital not to go ahead with the decision which will be tantamount to Party interests. Some activists have also decided to inform Party National president Raj Nath Singh and its Prime Ministerial candidate Narindera Modi against the decision and send letters to them either through email or fax asking them that the decision will tarnish the Party's image and it will be very difficult for them to counter the Congress Party during campaigning on the issue of corruption. These activists said that BJP has taken a principled stand on corruption and there will be no compromise on this menace which eating up the vitals of the society. The Party has launched nation-wide campaign and termination of seven sitting MLAs by the Party has added in its public image. They said that BJP activists during these three years had visited every nook and corner of these constituencies to mobilize public opinion against them and rejuvenate party in the constituencies. By readmitting them into Party fold it will difficult for the Party to counter the Congress on the issue of corruption, they added. The BJP activists of Raipur Damana Constituency held a meeting under the chairmanship of Sukhdev Singh Jamwal in which the members expressed concern over the Party decision. The meeting decided that they will approach the Party High Command and appeal it to review the decision as it will tarnish its public image. During these years we campaigned from door to door against these MLAs and also projected some new and young leaders as the Party candidates but with the decision of the Party deciding to revoke their suspension order has generated a lot of resentment among the workers as they will be unable to counter Congress propaganda on the issue of corruption, said Omi Khajuria, district general secretary. |
