JAMMU, Jan 13: Two smugglers have been arrested alongwith the contraband of charas in this winter capital of the state. "A police party this morning at a check point at Dogra Chowk intercepted two persons and during frisking 2-kg of charas was recovered from their possession," SSP Jammu Atul Goel said. He said that the arrested persons were identified as Saif Ali Khan, resident of Kalakote, Rajouri and Vinod Kumar, resident of Hazoori Bagh, TalabTillo, Jammu, who was working as a guard in the Jammu and Kashmir Forest Department. "During course of investigations, the smugglers revealed that they had hidden packets of charas weighing 8-kg in a car parked inside the Exhibition Ground," the SSP said adding that the hidden contraband was also seized on their disclosure. However, a case under FIR number 06 of 2014 under sections 8/21/22 of NDPS Act has been registered against them and investigations are in progress. More arrests in this case cannot be ruled out, the SSP added. |
