| Over 100 NC workers from Nagrota join PDP | | 'Peoples' woes compounding due to governance deficit' | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 13: Lambasting ruling National Conference for indulging into deceit tactics to hoodwink gullible masses of the state, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said that it was really a matter of satisfaction that people have now realized that National Conference (NC) is responsible for all the problems. Party said that NC has now exposed before the masses and this party (NC) would be a history after 2014 Assembly elections. Addressing a function at Khadati area of Nagrota to welcome more than 100 prominent NC workers from Nagrota assembly segment who joined PDP, Yash Pal Sharma, MLC and PDP candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat, said that joining of such a large number of NC workers was a clear indication that people cannot be befooled any more by the deceitful tactics of the NC leadership. "Gone are the days when NC leadership befooled by the people by raking up emotive issues now people are intelligent enough to judge good and bad", Mr Sharma said and added that NC has never allowed democracy to flourish in Jammu and Kashmir. "Indifferent attitude of the government to give powers to the Panchayats and inordinate delay in conducting civic bodies election reflects dictatorial mindset of the present dispensation headed by NC", he said. "Democracy is the best way to address aspirations to the people and to involve people in the governance", he remarked but regretted that successive NC regimes in the state have never allowed the democracy to flourish in Jammu and Kashmir. Pointing towards rampant corruption in the state, Sharma observed that governance deficit was the main reason of increasing alienation of the people. "Corruption has crossed all limits due to lack of transparency and accountability in the government", he said and pointed out the developmental projects started during PDP led regime were hanging in balance due to mis-governance of the present regime. |
