| Court issues non-bailable warrants against 'star witness' | | Chopra Murder case | | Et Report
Jammu, Feb 1 (JNF) : In much publicized murder case of Cement Tycoon RB Chopra and his wife Madhu Chopra, daughter Saloni Chopra, Servant Sonu and driver Jagan Nath, on September 18, 2006, Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Kartar Singh issued non-bailable warrants against star witness Surinder Singh who allegedly is playing the game of hide and seek with the court. While issuing warrants against Star Witness, Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Kartar Singh observed that the prosecution witness namely Surinder Singh is not present, he was summoned through non bailable warrant and he appeared in the Court on January 27, 2014 and warrants issued against him was withdrawn subject to furnishing of bail bond and personal bond of the amount Rs20,000 each but despite execution of his bail bond and personal bond he has not appeared in the Court and.
Court further observed that the witness is being examined since long and he was summoned through all the modes but he is always playing the game of hide and seek with the court and even today he is absent without any reasonable excuse and forfeited his bail bond and personal bond and issue notice to the surety as well as the witness as to why the amount of the bonds furnished by them be not realized and it is further directed that all the witnesses be summoned through non-bailable warrants which shall be sent to SSP Jammu for compliance and directed to produce the witness in the Court onFebruary 8, 2014 for recording his statement. According to the police case on September 18, 2006 at 10:30 PM an information was received from reliable sources police station Trikuta Nagar Jammu that some unidentified persons after gaining entry in the residential house of Rajinder Bushan Chopra alias Raju Chopra with criminal intention at sector 3 Trikuta Nagar have brutally murdered him, his wife Madhu Chopra, daughter Saloni Chopra, Servant Sonu and driver Jagan Nath, after their hands and legs were tied mouths gagged. After committing crime the accused persons fled from the spot in a white alto car No 0030/JK02AC, owned by Chopra's which was parked in the premises of house. On this FIR No 107/2006 u/s 302 RPC was registered and investigation was taken-up by then SHO Mohd Rafiq Manhas.
It is worthwhile to mention here that in this much publicized case police has presented three charge-sheet against Ahesh, Russi, Vicky, Nanju, Bhawani Singh, Sikander, Narinder and Sangram Singh. Court also framed charges u/s 302/396/120-B/109 RPC are made against the accused Dalip whereas Court framed charges u/ss 302/120-B RPC against the accused Ajab Singh, Tarlochan Singh Wazir Ex-MLC NC, Nagar Singh and Rajinder Singh and on May 8, 2012 Court has framed charges.
Worthwhile to mention here that Ajab Singh, Tarlochan Singh Wazir Ex-MLC NC, Nagar Singh were arrested in Chopra Family Murder case after the statement of Surinder Singh on June 9, 2011. According to the Statement of Surinder Singh recorded u/s 164-A CrPC before the Judicial Magistrate in which he disclosed that in month of August 2006 one Tirlochan Singh Wazir @ Talo (Ex-MLC) asked him to meet him at his residence at Gandhi Nagar. According to the statement recorded u/s 164-A CrPC Surinder Singh disclosed that on next date he went to the house of Tirlochan Singh Wazir at that time four other persons were also there. According to him they are Ajab Singh brother of Tirlochan Singh, Choudhary Nagar Singh, Sanjay Sharma and Raju Simblia.
These peoples were discussing about the loading of unloading of cement and Ajab Singh said that RB Chopra creates problems for them for loading and unloading of cements. Upon this Trilochan Singh @ Talo asked Nagar Singh if Chopra is creating problem in loading & unloading cement, even also Chopra creates problem in FCI Work. Trilochan Singh & Ors asked Sanjay Sharma to kill the Chopra and his whole family and asked money is no matter. Ajab Singh and Nagar Singh told that they will spend any amount but their names should not disclose any where.
According to Surinder Singh alias Kala he left the house of Trilochan Singh Wazir as there is serious conspiracy was hatching and after some days he came to know that RB Chopra, his wife, his daughter and two servants killed. |
