VIJAYPUR, Feb 1: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Manjit Singh today appealed coalition Government not to delay package for one time settlement of refugees/displaced persons. Speaking before the Congress workers in Vijaypur, Singh said that the State Government should send the proposal of package to the GoI for the one time settlement of refugees/displaced persons. "The package is pending before the Government and its files have been gathering dust," he alleged, while saying that they should not sit on the file. He further said that the displaced persons/refugees have been in trouble since decades and now the time has come to settle them. "No politics should be played on the issue and human aspect must be kept in mind," he added. He demanded benefits for the border people. "The border people should be given reservation like LoC," he demanded. He further said that the people whose crops damaged due to flash flood in Ramgarh and other border areas of Vijaypur due to Devak bandh damage but nothing was done for them by the Government. |
