| Distt Kathua PDP Ex-Servicemen wing nominated | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 1: A meeting of JKPDP Ex-Servicemen Wing was held in Basohli which was presided over by Capt. Anil Gour, State President Ex-Servicemen Wing. A large number of Ex-Servicemen from Village Nagrota, Plakh, Hottar, Dhamlar; Mahanpur and adjoining villages attended the meeting in large numbers and discussed the various problems being faced by them due to the apathy of the successive and present State Government. Capt. Gour criticized the refusal of the J&K Govt to implement the re-employment reservation policy for Ex-Servicemen in State Government jobs. He demanded that special Eco-Task Force and Disaster Management Force battalions should be created consisting of only these Ex-Servicemen to ensure their gainful employment. It was unanimously resolved that this Policy should be immediately implemented in letter & sprite so that Ex-Servicemen are gainfully employed as they retire at a very early age & have small children to look after. Capt. Anil Gour demanded that ECHS facility should be available with more hospitals within the state & new dispensaries opened in interior areas of Kathua & Samba districts. He also demanded that more Army schools should be opened in these districts to cater to the high population of Ex-servicemen in these areas. All the participants were also critical of the VAT being levied on all CSD sales in the State. They were unanimous in their demand for the removal of this VAT as it was hitting the pensioners and war widows the most. |
