Jammu, Feb 4 : PHE Workers Welfare Association (WWA) today started week long chain hunger strike here at in premises of Chief Engineer office Jammu. According to press release, provincial President Bakshi Singh said that the long pending demands of employees include regularization of all sorts of PHE workers after 5 years clearance of 22 months backlog wages of workers, disbursement of wages of workers before 5th of every month regularly, holding of DPC meeting against vacant posts, framing of concrete recruitment policy for PHE department and creation of higher scale posts and to create the promotion avenues for all stagnated employees. He further said that seven employees belonging to PHE mechanical division south Vishav Nath Dubay, Omkar Singh, Puran Chand, Parshotam Kumar, Mustaq Ahamed, Shamash Din and Sat Paul Singh today sit on hunger strike. Meanwhile Subash Verma provincial General Secretary Subash Verma said that the employees had forced towards the unwanted agitation because of callous attitude of concerned authority. He further said that ongoing agitation would remain continue on democratic and non- violence principles to achieve the goal. |
