ET Report JAMMU, Feb 4: Irregularities in the appointment of Rehbar-e-Talim teacher has came to fore in zone Kanuyian of tehsil Haveli of district Poonch, where a blue-eyed candidate has managed the job, surpassing the candidate in the merit list. Gurpreet Singh son of Naranjan Singh, a resident of Dara Dullian, tehsil Haveli of district Poonch informed Early Times that he had applied for the post of Rehbar-E-Talim teacher in Primary School Pothi against the required post of Maths teacher, as Government advertisement number CEO/SSA/8488-8509 dated, 27-11-2010. He was selected third in the merit list as finalized out by the Zonal Education Office Kanuyian Zone, but to his utter surprise that the candidate, Rayaz Ahmed who stood 8th in the merit list was allegedly unjustifiably by the concerned ZEO. "The concerned ZEO selected the candidates merely in the garb of pecuniary benefit from the candidate, who was below in the merit list", he alleged, adding that by recommending the name of Rayaz Ahmed as a potential candidate for the appointment had disregarded and flouted the law of the land. He further said that Rayaz Ahmed son of Mohammad Sadiq, who was below in merit was appointed as Rehbar-E-Taleem teacher vide Director School Education letter number DSEJ/RET/870 dated November, 8, 2013, who had also assumed the duties with effect from November, 18, 2013. "Astoundingly, I had since put forth my objections filed with the Director School Education Jammu on November 6, 2013 vide receipts number 9564", but instead of taking appropriate step, same has been ignored", he alleged. Gurpreet Singh, has now appealed State Vigilance Commission to look into the alleged irregularities and take appropriate action.
