SRINAGAR, Feb 4: A local court here today partly heard arguments in bail pleas of some students and parents allegedly involved in multi-million cash for CET 2012 paper scam even as it posted the main case for further proceedings on February 18. As the proceedings of the case started before the Special Anti-Corruption Judge Kashmir, M L Manhas, Crime Branch produced before it seventeen accused including former chairman of Board of Professional Entrance Examination Mushtaq Ahmad Peer and one of the brokers, Sajjad Ahmad Bhat. The accused through their counsels pleaded for granting bail to them. While the court posted the case on February 18, it partly heard the arguments in the bail pleas of students and parents. The court also extended judicial custody of the accused including six students include Ahmad Faraz of Naibasti, Mushtaq Ahmad Lone of Samthan Bijbhera, Naveed Ahmad Bhat of Murhama Bijbhera, Khursheed Ahmad Dar of Chinigund Bijbhera, Yasir Yousuf Hajam of Chandan Pajjan Bijbhera and Yasir Yousuf Dar of Pazalpora Bijbhera. The parents sent to jail include Bilal Ahmad Vaid of New Colony Bijbhera, Bashir Ahmad Dar of Chinigund Bijbhera, Mohammad Shafi Bandh of Awantipora, Mohammad Iqbal Reshi of Nai Basti Anantnag, Gulam Mohi-ud-din Lone of Semthan Bijbhera and Mohammad Yousuf Dar. The Crime Branch has named 12 students and nine parents in the charge sheet. Among the students, three are minors and as per counsel CPO of Crime Branch, they will be produced separately before the competent court. The ex-BOPEE chief and other accused have been chargeshteed in case FIR 24/2013 Under Section 420, 120B RPC, 5(2)d r/w (5(2) PC Act of Police Station Crime Branch. While main case was posted on February 18, it posted the case for further proceedings on Thursday.
