| NC goes out of way to take credit of new administrative units | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 4: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) seem to have gone crazy after the State Cabinet approved the creation of new administrative units in the state. The NC leaders are issuing statements after statements everyday and are giving credit to its working President, Omar Abdullah, who is also the Chief Minister of the state. But the biggest question, which they are not asking to themselves, is that what Omar has done to create these units? Has he done any home work to remove the disparity, created by the Mushtaq Ganai committee report? The Chief Minister has been moving from one place to another and meeting people to save his Government after he went public by saying that he will resign if Ganai committee recommendations are not accepted. He never bothered to remove the discrimination being meted out to Jammu region by Ganai committee. It was due to the efforts of Congress members of the Cabinet Sub Committee, who took a stand on the issue and gave Omar tough time. If they would haven't shown the aggressive face in front of the National Conference Ministers, including the Chief Minister, the Jammu region and many parts of far flung areas of Kashmir region would have not get their share. It is because of the hard work done by the Congress Ministers that people of the state got the due share which they deserved. If they would not have done the work, the National Conference led Government would have gone for the Ganai committee, which was totally discriminatory in nature. Now, when the State Cabinet approved the CSC recommendations, NC is trying to take the credit for the work which was originally done by Congress Ministers. |
