| WC Gandhi Nagar celebrates women's day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 4: Women Studies Centre of Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar today celebrated women's day, wherein Prof. Savita Bakshi Special Secretary J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages was the chief guest whereas Dr. Kiran Bakshi Principal of the college presided over the function. According to press release, Dr. Ashu Vashist read the detailed report of the new project undertaken by WSC and the different landmark achieved by it right from its inception to the present.
A fusion of culture items including Nukkad Natak, Dance, Poetry Recitation, Songs were performed, all focusing on the women issues and problems faced by the women in the patriarchal society.
Prof. Savita Bakshi stressed upon the need of sensitizing the gender for the wholesome fruitition especially of the girl child. Students were given mementos and certificates of merit for their active involvement in the activities undertaken by WSC in the college.
The programe were conducted by Shran and Shriya of B. Sc part-III. And it ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Neelima Gupta. |
