Srinagar, Feb 4: Panic gripped Gadoora area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district on Tuesday after Special Operations Group (SOG) of police and army started searches following some gunshots in the area. Reports said that SOG and army's 55 RR laid a cordon around Harpora village in Gadoora area of Pulwama district after some shots were heard by the forces this evening. Suspecting that the militants fired the shots, the joint team conducted searches in the village till late evening. However, no one was arrested when the last reports came in. "The forces had received a tip-off that militants were hiding in the village. The searches continued for several hours. However, it was believed that two militants, who were hiding in the village have fled," sources said. They said that the cordon was lifted after forces couldn't locate the militants. |
