Poonch, Feb 4 : To revive book reading culture among masses, Qadria Masjid Poonch has established a library at its Manjid premises which was inaugurated by MLA Haveli Ajaz Jan.
Speaking on the occasion, Anwar Khan said, "In a present era when people have forgotten the book reading habit and they need to be encouraged by opening such libraries in the area."
Hafiz Abdul Majid in his address stressed on the need to encourage and attract the youths towards book reading culture so that their energy may be channelized in a positive direction.
Haji Abdul Rashid Jami said, "The Masjid committee should frame a time schedule for the opening and closing of reading room keeping in view the needs of different sections of the society. He also stressed on the start of membership drive for the library.
Ajaz Jan, in his address assured all sorts of help in flourishing of the library. He also appreciated the idea of establishing such type of library in the Masjid premises. Moulana Fida Hussain, Imam of the Masjid extending vote of thanks said, "The Masjid committee will try its best to attract maximum youths towards the library" He also expressed his gratitude towards Jahangir Mir, MLC and B A Bhatti for their financial contribution in establishing the library. Among other who were present on the occasion included Prof. Fateh Mohd Abbasi, Dr Shamim Bandey, Dr. Amjad Ali Babar, Shabi Hassan, Farooq Khawaja, Noor Hussain and Dr. Latif Mir. |
